Staffing Companies have existed for more than five decades, & their dominance in the employment sector has been impeccable. With a turnover in millions, it is without a doubt that recruiting companies are here to stay for long.

Taking this into account, there are still a lot of people & corporations who have no idea what Staffing is all about and just don’t utilize its potential to their advantage.

Recruiting is a tough and demanding job, yet it has led to questions in mind of the employee ‘or’ the job seeker, which have given rise to certain misconceptions regarding this field.

Let’s take a look at these myths/misconceptions & understand why they are wrong:

# Recruiters Charge Job Seekers a Service Fee – Recruiters always strive to fill the post with the right talent, or else, it will spoil the relationship of the staffing company with its client for not delivering the demanded talent.

Additionally, it will affect the relationship with the candidate as he/she may not benefit, & will soon lose confidence.

# Stuffing Up the Vacancies, No Focus on Candidate’s Interest – Recruiters always strive to fill the post with the right talent, or else, it will spoil the relationship of the staffing company with its client for not delivering the demanded talent. Additionally, it will affect the relationship with the candidate as he/she may not benefit, & will soon lose confidence.

Recruiters perform various checks to ensure that the candidate is the right fit for any client. These checks include job experience, skill-set check, industry tenure, various background checks. All this is done before any candidate is permitted to start work for the client. Relations grow only if there is more transparency in approach.

# Focus is Only on Temp Jobs – This is not entirely true. The demand for a Temp job (Contractual Employment) is on the rise, however, recruiting companies also work on positions like Part-time, Temp to Perm, and Direct (Permanent) Hiring.

# Low Salary Worries – A Recruiter always gets paid by his / her client (discussed in Point # 1), however, it does not affect the candidate’s salary at all. In fact, recruiters are always motivated to provide you with the best pay package, as they get some percentage of your salary as their payment; according to the contract they have with their client(s).

# It’s Expensive – Many companies believe that outsourcing to a recruitment company will cost them a fortune. This is a Delusion. In reality, hiring a recruitment company saves a lot of Time & Money for them. After all, they are called Recruiters, as they are the best in their field and are equipped with the latest tools which will help you save more time, while you focus on other work that is important for your business.
