Position Description
Position Description     Primary responsibility for data review and approval for transactions in the Capital Asset Management System (CAMS) within KFS. This includes review of all purchase requests for capital items, creation of new asset records, and modification or correction of existing asset records. Works closely with campus inventory coordinators to assure complete and timely recordkeeping of capital and non-capital assets. Review and approve purchase requisitions containing a capital or non-capital equipment object, and all requisitions greater than $5,000. Maintain and distribute the p-card transactions report to inventory coordinators and manually create non-capital assets from p-card purchases. Verify the accuracy of the monthly reports of pending/incomplete and retired assets. Create federal government furnished, federal durable goods, and capital and non-capital equipment gifts in the Capital Asset Management System (CAMS) in KFS. Monitor, review and follow-up on data entry and data collection during annual physical inventory. Other duties as assigned to assist with the operations of the Inventory Control Office.    

Skills Required Strong working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and internal control practices. Master's degree in finance or accounting.   

Skills Preferred            Experience with KFS mainframe software utilization including data retrieval and report generation techniques highly desirable. Proficiency with PC based software including database, word processing, and spreadsheet applications. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. High level of detail analytical skills and ability to exercise professional judgement.            

Experience Required   1-2 years of accounting/business office experience required.

Experience Preferred  Previous university and/or inventory control experience highly desirable.       

Education Required     Bachelor's degree from an accredited four year college or university, with a major/concentration in accounting, business, or finance.
